Arsenal Confident in Signing David Raya as Goalkeeper Pushes Brentford Exit

Arsenal’s pursuit of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is facing challenges as their initial bid of £20 million ($25.44 million) plus £3 million ($3.82 million) in add-ons has been rejected. Brentford values the Spanish goalkeeper almost double the amount offered by Arsenal. Despite this gap in valuation, Arsenal remains confident in securing the signing of their target.

The situation becomes intriguing as Raya himself is reportedly pushing for an exit from Brentford, which might open the possibility of reaching a compromise between the two clubs. However, it remains to be seen how much Brentford will be willing to lower their initial asking price for the goalkeeper.

As it stands, it seems unlikely that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be able to complete the deal before the start of the Premier League season, which means Aaron Ramsdale will continue as the club’s No. 1 goalkeeper. Nonetheless, once the transfer saga is resolved, it will be interesting to see whom the Spanish coach prefers as his starting goalkeeper in all competitions. Click here to know more.
